Sunrise Sprint Championship

New for 2016, The MAC has initiated its first ever Championship based around the 6 Sprint events that MAC is organising for the season. This new championship is open to all members of clubs that are registered with the Association of West Midlands Motor Clubs, and simply requires each competitor to register before the start of the season on the 'Championship Registration' form listed below.

Regulations for the Championship are available below and any of the classes listed can produce the overall champion for the year.

Classes have been defined as follows:

  • Class A1 Roadgoing Series Production Cars up to 1700cc
  • Class A2 Roadgoing Series Production Cars over 1700cc
  • Class B1 Roadgoing Specialist Production Cars up to 1700cc
  • Class B2 Roadgoing Specialist Production Cars over 1700cc
  • Class C1 Modified Series Production Cars up to 1700cc
  • Class C2 Modified Series Production Cars over 1700cc
  • Class D Modified Specialist Production Cars
  • Class G1 Racing Cars up to 1000cc
  • Class G2 Racing Cars 1001cc to 2500cc
  • Class G3 Racing Cars over 2500cc
  • Class G4 Formula Ford Cars up to 1600cc
  • Class P1 Sports Libre Cars up to 2500cc
  • Class P2 Sports Libre Cars over 2500cc

Prizes/awards are:

The overall winner of the Championship will receive a trophy and 3 free entries into the Championship in the following year.

2nd in the Championship will receive a trophy and 2 free entries into the Championship in the following year

3rd in the Championship will receive a trophy and 1 free entry into the Championship in the following year

Scoring points:

  • 1st in Class 6 points
  • 2nd in Class 4 points
  • 3rd in Class 3 points
  • 4th in Class 2 points
  • 5th in Class 1 point
The above applies to Classes with 5 or more competitors.

For Classes with less than 5 competitors the following points system will apply:
  • 4 in Class: 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th = 4, 3, 2 & 1 point(s)
  • 3 in Class: 1st, 2nd & 3rd = 3,2 & 1 point(s)
  • 2 in Class: 1st & 2nd = 2 & 1 point(s)
  • 1 in Class: 1 point
The overall winner of the Championship will be the competitor who has accumulated the most points in their best 4 events
